Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Reginald Lewis (ranked 3297 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Starling (ranked 7876 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reginald Lewis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Starling! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Starling is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.
Lewis looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Starling fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lewis has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA New York in the buildup to the fight. Lewis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily letting Starling counter with a right hand.
It looks like Reginald Lewis has been cut. Starling tries to clinch up. Lewis throws a big counter combination but Starling scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Starling shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lewis as he avoids it easily. Lewis is trying hard to land a takedown here. Starling sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. No luck for Starling with that takedown attempt. Reginald Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Starling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Starling is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Lewis swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Starling moves into the clinch.

Starling ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Starling no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Starling manages to escape and get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Starling tries for a takedown but Lewis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Lewis looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Lewis throws a head kick that half lands.
Starling connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Lewis's hands. Lewis clinches with his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Starling jumps guard but Lewis stands there with Starling around his waist. Starling gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lewis stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Lewis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Starling gets in close and instigates a clinch. Starling tries to pull guard but Lewis forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lewis works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Starling is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lewis is controlling him. Lewis tries to free his leg and advance position but Starling is retaining full guard. Lewis stops Starling from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lewis wants to control from the top but Starling keeps moving. Lewis wanted to stand there but Starling had control of the position. Starling scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Starling shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lewis sprawls well. Lewis wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Starling gets slowly back to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Starling fails with an attempt to clinch.

Lewis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Starling keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lewis's head. Lewis can't keep his opponent in guard - Starling advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Starling is looking for a kimura but Lewis is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Starling to get the leverage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Starling tries to pass to full mount but Lewis defends it. Lewis is staying active underneath Starling, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Starling is thwarting Lewis's attempts to control the position. Starling wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lewis keeps working. Lewis tries to roll over but Starling keeps him under control. Starling postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lewis to stand up. Starling tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lewis manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Starling shoots for a takedown but Lewis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Starling tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Lewis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Starling. Lewis wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Reginald Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Starling.

Lewis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Starling tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lewis is in Starling's guard. Lewis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Starling's head. Starling wants to stand up but Lewis is controlling him. Starling is working an open guard so Lewis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Lewis passes Starling's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Lewis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Starling manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Lewis keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Lewis breaks the clinch.

Starling is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lewis is controlling him. Jackson Starling has got the better of the ground game so far. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lewis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Lewis prevents Starling from getting back to his feet. Lewis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Lewis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lewis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Lewis makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lewis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Starling is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
