Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leati Fatu!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kata tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fatu swivels and escapes.
Kata shoots in looking for a takedown. Fatu tries to sprawl out of it but Kata keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fatu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fatu is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Kata scoring well with a low kick there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fatu avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kata sets himself, and Fatu steps forward looking for the clinch! Kata avoids it this time.
Kata tries to clinch but Fatu is having none of it.
Fatu wants to counter with a clinch but Kata pushes him away.
Kata throws a hook but Fatu avoids it easily.
Fatu is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Kata tries to clinch up but Fatu circles away and keeps his distance.

Kata fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Takamitsu Kata. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kata dives in and grabs Fatu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fatu pushes down on Kata's head and hops out.
Fatu avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kata closes the distance and clinches up with Fatu, looking for a takedown. Kata pushes Fatu against the cage but Fatu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fatu tries to counter with a clinch but Kata shakes him off and moves away.
Kata shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fatu as he jumps to the side.

Fatu shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Fatu was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kata can't do much from the bottom here.
Kata on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kata tries to get out of the position.

Fatu works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Kata gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Kata is bucking up trying to escape but Fatu cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oh Kata is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fatu postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Kata badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Fatu around the waist but Fatu pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Fatu is the winner by TKO! Fatu jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leati Fatu!
