Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ward tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Silva is in Ward's guard.
Silva controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ward escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ward has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silva is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ward.
Silva is staying tight to Ward's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva is working to tighten his grip on Ward's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Ward has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Silva is really squeezing tight and eventually Ward passes out! Silva breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
