Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jay Black!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darran Arahmas!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arahmas gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Black counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Arahmas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Black's waist but Black gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Arahmas off to one side.
Arahmas shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Black makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Arahmas misses with a takedown
enabling Black to counter with a crisp jab.
Jay Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darran Arahmas.
Black throws a hook to the side of Arahmas's head but Arahmas sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Arahmas throws a right and a left that both miss.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Arahmas throws an off balance right hand
and Black counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Arahmas misses with a takedown attempt
and Black counters with a left to the body.
Arahmas has his takedown stuffed
and Black counters with a stiff right hand.
Arahmas looks winded!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Arahmas misses with a left hand
and Black counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Arahmas has his takedown stuffed
enabling Black to counter with a crisp jab.
Arahmas is rocked!
Arahmas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Black. That did some damage!
Arahmas is still on wobbly legs! Can Black finish him?
Arahmas closes the distance but Black moves to the side
and Black counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Nice shot lands for Black.
Arahmas has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Arahmas tries to clinch up
and Black counters with a crisp right that sends Arahmas to the canvas! Black follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jay Black!
A less than humble Jay Black misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
