These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byrd pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gould feinted with a counter takedown.
Byrd avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Byrd avoids the head kick by Gould.
Byrd ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gould slips a straight right by Byrd.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Byrd.
Gould tries to counter with a takedown but Byrd is quick to defend against it.
Byrd is looking to land body kicks.
Gould was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Adelaide Byrd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gould shoots in looking for a takedown but Byrd manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gould's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Byrd throws a body punch but Gould moves out of range.
Gould wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Byrd just misses with a punch to the body.
Byrd loads up on a big right hand but Gould slips the punch.

A big left from Byrd misses.
Gould half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Byrd fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Gould on the side of the head.
Byrd lands with a right hand.
Gould is rocked!
Gould has his takedown stuffed
and Byrd counters with a left to the body.
Oh Gould is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caleb Gould. That's going to take a lot out of him.
