The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner shoots and misses
and Yingwen Taizong counters with a nice body shot.

Yingwen Taizong is trying to work for a sweep but Gardner has mounted him!
Gardner has control of Yingwen Taizong 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yingwen Taizong regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Gardner jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Yingwen Taizong manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yingwen Taizong tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gardner wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Yingwen Taizong is trying to escape the position but Gardner is controlling the position.
Yingwen Taizong stops Gardner from passing to mount.

Yingwen Taizong trying his best to control but Gardner has mounted him.
Yingwen Taizong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gardner on the ground.

Gardner wants to control the pace but Yingwen Taizong is squirming around nicely.
Yingwen Taizong wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Gardner.

Yingwen Taizong is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Gardner locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Yingwen Taizong is forced to tap!
