Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Jordan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Valentin Gorlanov!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorlanov fails with the takedown
and Jordan counters with a stiff right hand.
A jab lands there for Jordan.
Gorlanov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jordan can pounce on him.
Gorlanov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jordan is fending him off so far but Gorlanov persists. Nope, Jordan circles away and we're back to standing.

Gorlanov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Gorlanov controls from within his opponent's guard.
Gorlanov trying to control the position from guard on top but Jordan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gorlanov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jordan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jordan tries to get out of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jordan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gorlanov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jordan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jordan is trying to control the position but Gorlanov postures up.

Gorlanov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Gorlanov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

It looks like Valentin Gorlanov has been cut.

Let's hope that Gorlanov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jordan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gorlanov is one step ahead there.
Gorlanov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jordan's guard.
Gorlanov looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Jordan wants to control but Gorlanov is keeping busy.

Gorlanov content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gorlanov takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jordan jabs Gorlanov right on the nose. Gorlanov blinks but takes it well.
Gorlanov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jordan circles away.
Gorlanov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jordan connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jordan scoring well with a low kick there.
Jordan lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Gorlanov fails with the takedown.
Jordan stuffs the takedown attempt from Gorlanov. Gorlanov gets slowly back to his feet.
A counter left hand to the body from Jordan misses its target.
Gorlanov looks winded!
Jordan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jordan buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Jordan lands a right hook to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jab, jab by Jordan - just one landing.
Gorlanov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jordan tries to avoid it but Gorlanov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jordan to the ground. Jordan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jordan throws a nice outside leg kick.
Jordan lands a two punch combo.
Gorlanov misses with a takedown
and Jordan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gorlanov tries for a takedown but Jordan circles away easily
and Jordan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Jordan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Valentin Gorlanov's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gorlanov drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Gorlanov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Gorlanov tries to free his leg and advance position but Jordan is retaining full guard.
Jordan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gorlanov wants to control from the top but Jordan keeps moving.

Gorlanov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gorlanov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Gorlanov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Jordan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gorlanov is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Gorlanov shoots for a takedown but Jordan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Matt Jordan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jordan lands with an uppercut that bounces Gorlanov off the cage and back into range.
Valentin Gorlanov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jordan scores with a jab to the body.
Gorlanov shoots in looking for a takedown but Jordan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gorlanov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Gorlanov is breathing heavily.
Jordan lands a nice hook to Gorlanov's body. Gorlanov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Jordan fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Gorlanov fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Matt Jordan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valentin Gorlanov.

Gorlanov takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Jordan cracks Gorlanov with an open hand slap.
Jordan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gorlanov can do to turn this around?
Jordan lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


Gorlanov is rocked!
Gorlanov walks into a stiff left hand from Jordan.
Gorlanov is still on wobbly legs! Can Jordan finish him?
Gorlanov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Jordan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jordan lands a lovely overhand right.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gorlanov walks into a stiff left hand from Jordan.
Matt Jordan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jordan walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Gorlanov drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Jordan swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Gorlanov's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Matt Jordan!
