Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Will Jones!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails to land the takedown.

Jones darts in and clinches Petties up against the cage.

Petties tries to pull guard but Jones holds him up against the cage and eventually Petties drops back down to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jones holds on and takes a little breather.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Petties is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Petties manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Petties's guard.

Petties looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Petties counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Jones lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Petties at a distance.
Jones keeps the fight on the outside.
Jones throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Petties has Jones pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Jones manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Petties wants to stall.
Jones lands a left hand.
Petties trying to land knees to the body.

Jones tries for a takedown. No joy.
Petties is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Jones changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Petties fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Petties looks to clinch
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Petties throws a head kick that half lands.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Petties is defended easily by Jones.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Petties dives in for a single leg takedown but Jones sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jones tries to counter with a clinch but Petties shakes him off and moves away.

Petties shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Petties swings for the body but Jones moves out of range.
Petties lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Petties as he jumps to the side.

Jones pushes off an throws an elbow but Petties leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Petties has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Petties drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jones pulls his leg out and moves away.
