Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jax Son (ranked 6092 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo David (ranked 6102 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jax Son! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marcelo David! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Son thuds his right hand into David's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. David shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Son working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from David. David distracts Son with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. David stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Son swivels though and keeps the full guard. David preventing the sweep. David trying to control but Son is working from the bottom. Son avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. David lands a couple of elbows. David trying to control the position from guard on top but Son is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Son is trying to control the position but David postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. David passes into half guard. David looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Son on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Son is trying to maintain the position but David is very close to passing his half guard. David wants to lay and pray for a moment but Son keeps working.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. David looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ground and pound from David. Son is holding on to half guard well. Son is looking for a sweep. David is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. David is working for a kimura but Son is defending it quite comfortably.
Son might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. David thows a huge punch but Son dodges it nicely.

Son knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for David on the ground. David is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. David landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. David has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! David postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Son looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Son gets caught napping as David dives in and scores a takedown. Son manages to retain guard. Son keeping moving, preventing David from controlling successfully. David slips nicely into half guard. Son kicks David off and gets back to his feet. Son rushes David and presses him up against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Son is defending well against a takedown attempt. The referee is keeping an eye on Son - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Son pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Son goes for a double leg but David avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as David continues to drive forward. David changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. David lands a slapping body shot.

David tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Son swivels and escapes. David has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Son tries to clinch but David moves out of range. David stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and David wants it to stay on the feet. David feints a counter leg kick. David misses with a takedown attempt - Son sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jax Son has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcelo David.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Son closes this distance looking for a takedown but David circles away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Son has managed to clinch.
Son jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as David walks away with a smile on his face. Son gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jax Son is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Son drives through and clinches with David against the cage.
Son escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
David tries a low kick but Son avoids it. David closes the distance and clinches up with Son, looking for a takedown. David pushes Son against the cage but Son circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jax Son seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Son misses with a body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. David shoots in and bounces Son off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Son utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Son controls David momentarily but David frees himself. David trying to control the position from guard on top but Son is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. David pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Son is keeping the position for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Son looking for a sweep. Not yet Son, not yet. David would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Son keeping moving, preventing David from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Horrible takedown attempt by Son or perhaps it was just good defense by David, which made it look bad. Son fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but David avoids it really well and circles away. David was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jax Son will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Son shoots in looking for a takedown but David manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Son's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jax Son. That's going to take a lot out of him. Son fails with an attempt to clinch.
David is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Son shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with David but David pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. David keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. David closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Son did well to prevent David getting side control. David scoring with strikes to the body and head. David is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Son defends it well. David lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. David slips a nice elbow through Son's hands, connecting with Son's forehead.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. David is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Son has managed to free his arm - good work. David moves into full mount! Son won't be happy about that! David is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Son is surviving well by controlling David's body position as best he can. David with the ground and pound from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Son tries to improve his position but David has taken his back! David has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Son tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! David pushes Son away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
