Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sasaki Shinji (ranked 4719 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Miller (ranked 5415 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sasaki Shinji! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Miller! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shinji avoids a punch combination nicely.
Miller avoids a punch combination nicely.
Shinji dodges the punch combination from Miller.
And Shinji counters with a quick kick to the body but Miller blocks it. Miller swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shinji attempts a counter takedown but Miller avoids it well and moves away. Shinji doesn't succeed with the takedown and Miller moves into the clinch. Miller tries for a takedown but Shinji manages to get underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shinji has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Miller regains guard immediately. Miller trying to keep a closed guard but Shinji is proving a slippery customer.
Miller throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shinji landing with the ground and pound. Miller wants to stand and escape but Shinji is having none of it. Shinji wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving. Shinji is really struggling to control Miller but he's trying to hold on to the position. Shinji stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miller swivels though and keeps the full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Miller trying to strike off his back.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Shinji gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Shinji escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shinji tries to clinch but Miller is having none of it. Miller changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Miller throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Shinji uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Miller. Shinji throws a leg kick but Miller checks it. Miller shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Shinji keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Shinji wants to get back to his feet.
Shinji is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller wants to pass the guard but Shinji is defending well. Shinji is trying to control but can't.
Shinji looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Miller trying to control the pace. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Miller throwing shots but Shinji is blocking nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Miller sitting and controlling from the half guard. Miller wants to control but Shinji is keeping him busy.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Miller tries to clinch up. Miller has a takedown stuffed. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Miller moves into the clinch. Shinji tries to pull guard but Miller holds him up against the cage and eventually Shinji drops back down to his feet.

A close round but Jason Miller will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Miller throws a sloppy head kick and Shinji moves out of range easily. Shinji fails to land the takedown. Shinji closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shinji lands in his opponent's guard. Miller tries to land a sweep but no joy. Shinji has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Miller is proving hard to escape from. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miller wants to sweep here but Shinji controlling him for the moment. Shinji is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Shinji has picked Miller up and slammed him! Miller can't keep hold of the triangle and Shinji manages to pass to side control! Miller wants to get back to his feet. Shinji tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Miller is working to avoid the ground and pound but Shinji connects with a decent elbow. Shinji working away. Miller misses with a strike from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Shinji wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working. Shinji lands some shots froms side control. Miller tries to improve position but can't. Shinji working away. Shinji wants to control but Miller is keeping him busy. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. No joy there for Miller, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Miller is looking to clinch. Miller tries to clinch but Shinji is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shinji shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Shinji wants to control but Miller is keeping him busy. Sasaki Shinji overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. It looks like Shinji is going to stand back up.
Shinji gets to his feet - back to striking we go! Miller swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Shinji was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Miller throws a head kick but Shinji moves out of range.
Miller closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shinji quickly recovers to half guard. Shinji scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Miller manages to mount him!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shinji is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Shinji is trying to escape the mount.
Shinji is working hard here to advance position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Miller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Miller working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Sasaki Shinji will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Shinji drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Miller is wriggling around but Shinji manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Miller looking to sweep here. No luck so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Miller thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Shinji chips away with some ground and pound. Miller wants to sweep here but Shinji controlling him for the moment. Shinji wants to pass the guard but Miller is keeping the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shinji trying to control the position from guard on top but Miller is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shinji lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Miller is looking to stand back up but Shinji counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Miller. Shinji is stalling here. Miller is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Shinji seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Miller has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. An elbow from Miller crashes against the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shinji is trying to control Miller's posture but Miller avoids it. Shinji tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Miller easily slips into full mount! Miller is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Shinji can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Miller throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Shinji is trying to stand. Miller raining down hammerfists from mount. Shinji can't escape the position.
Miller fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Shinji is looking to get to half guard. Miller controlling the pace for now. Let's hope that Miller has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that's the end of the fight! Jason Miller comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Miller has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
