The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tidwell closes the distance and pushes Slobodyanyuk back into the cage.
Slobodyanyuk is trying to force a seperation but Tidwell has the dominant position.
Tidwell pulls guard successfully.
Tidwell looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Slobodyanyuk puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Tidwell is refusing to be controlled, as Slobodyanyuk sits in half guard.
Slobodyanyuk is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Slobodyanyuk drops an elbow to the side of Tidwell's head.
Tidwell on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tidwell tries to get out of the position.

Slobodyanyuk is trying to work for a kimura but Tidwell is defending well.
Slobodyanyuk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tidwell keeps working.

Tidwell is squirming around, avoiding Slobodyanyuk's attempts to control the action.

Tidwell is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Slobodyanyuk throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Tidwell because Slobodyanyuk loaded up on that one.
Slobodyanyuk looking to ground and pound but Tidwell is blocking nicely.
Tidwell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slobodyanyuk on the ground.
Slobodyanyuk is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Tidwell to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tidwell shrugs it off.
Slobodyanyuk is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Slobodyanyuk throws some wild stikes that Tidwell manages to avoid easily.
Slobodyanyuk won't let Tidwell get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Tidwell tries to lock up and control but Slobodyanyuk gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's time! Tidwell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
No luck for Tidwell with that takedown attempt.
Slobodyanyuk is looking to clinch but Tidwell is avoiding it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Slobodyanyuk.
Rob Tidwell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Slobodyanyuk moves in looking to clinch but Tidwell pushes him off.
Tidwell wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

and Slobodyanyuk counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
