Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, JJ Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Walid Seghir!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woods throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Woods misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Seghir shoots for a takedown but Woods saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Woods with a nice cross.
Seghir steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Woods. That one must have hurt.
Seghir shoots in and drives through. Woods sprawls well.
Woods lets loose with a powerful body kick. Seghir will feel that in the morning.
Woods scores with a kick to the midsection.
Seghir throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Seghir stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Woods.
Woods lands a head kick!
Woods connects with a solid leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Seghir doesn't manage to clinch there - Woods circles away.
Woods scores with a kick to the body.
Seghir chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Woods can pounce on him.
Woods keeps Seghir at a distance using the push kick.

Seghir shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Woods defends it nicely.
JJ Woods has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walid Seghir.
Seghir wants to clinch
and Woods finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Seghir got a little sloppy there for a moment and Woods has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Seghir has managed to get both his arms back between Woods's legs - danger averted.
Seghir seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

It looks like Seghir might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Woods on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Woods tries to get out of the position.

Seghir is looking for a kimura but Woods is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Seghir to get the leverage.

Woods is desperately trying to improve his position but Seghir has a good base and remains in mount.

Seghir is working for a guillotine from mount but Woods frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Woods tries to reverse the position but Seghir maintains control.

Woods misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Seghir throws a wild body kick that Woods sees coming a mile off.
Seghir shoots in looking for a takedown. Woods tries to sprawl out of it but Seghir keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woods manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Woods lands a high kick!

Seghir has taken the fight to the clinch.
Woods throws a head punch that misses.
Still in the clinch, Woods scores with a nice short uppercut.
Seghir takes a shot to the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Woods breaks the clinch.
An inside leg kick lands from Woods.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Seghir.
Seghir takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Seghir has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Woods.

Woods takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

JJ Woods dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Seghir throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Woods tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Seghir is in Woods's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Woods tries to buck Seghir off but Seghir is having none of it.

Seghir tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Seghir seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Seghir lands a nice shot to the head.
The referee warns Woods that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Woods is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Seghir can do to turn this around?

Seghir is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Woods can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Woods has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Seghir escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Seghir!

Seghir looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Woods knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Seghir on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Let's hope that Seghir has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Seghir working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Seghir is looking to take a break and control but Woods is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Seghir stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Seghir shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Woods makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Woods lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Woods clobbers Seghir with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Seghir avoids the head kick by Woods.
Woods throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Woods fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Seghir has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Seghir takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Woods misses with an uppercut.
Seghir tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Seghir's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Seghir shoots in looking for a takedown but Woods manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Seghir's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Woods throws a sloppy head kick and Seghir moves out of range easily.
Walid Seghir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Seghir dives in for a single leg takedown but Woods sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

JJ Woods showed his dominance in that final round.
