Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward George (ranked 24350 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Ramierez (ranked 5858 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramierez is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Its the end of the world as we know it. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edward George! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hector Ramierez! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! George fails to land the takedown. George tries to keep at a distance but Ramierez has taken the fight into the clinch. Ramierez missing with knees to the body.
George is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ramierez is just too persistent for him and manages to trip George to the mat. George regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Ramierez throws a big elbow that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramierez trying to move into half guard but instead George has managed to sweep!
George might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ramierez looking for submissions from the bottom but instead George passes into half guard.
George tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Ramierez.
That's one minute gone in the round. George content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ramierez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
George could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Ramierez trying to control but George postures up.
Ramierez wants to sweep but George has passed to side control!
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ramierez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but George wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. A control attempt from Ramierez but he's now mounted! George gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Ramierez lands with a nice combination. George backs away looking to recover.
It looks like Edward George has been cut. Ramierez tries to clinch but George moves away and George counters with a series of strikes. Ramierez will be more careful next time no doubt. George will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ramierez pushes George up against the cage in a clinch. Ramierez jumps into guard, dragging George to the mat.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramierez is trying to hold George in close to prevent damage but George has managed to pass into half guard.
George passes into side control, despite Ramierez's attempt to control the position.
Ramierez wants to get back to his feet but George is dominant here and he's now got Ramierez's back! Ramierez tries to escape but George has the hooks in and won't let him break free. A bit of a pause in the action here. George controlling the positon. Ramierez tries to break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. George controls the action. You can see the frustration on Ramierez's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Ramierez looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Good control from George. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Edward George will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Edward George's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Ramierez with a body punch. A glancing blow. Ramierez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. George is trying to control Ramierez's posture but Ramierez avoids it. Edward George overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ramierez tries to get to his feet but George is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Ramierez in his guard. Ramierez won't allow George to sweep him here. Ramierez must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramierez wants to stand and escape but instead George has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. George stands and steps away. Ramierez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Ramierez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. George seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Ramierez looking to sit in guard and control but George gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ramierez looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! George has picked Ramierez up and slammed him! Ramierez can't keep hold of the triangle and George manages to pass to side control! George has control of an arm but Ramierez manages to advance to George's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ramierez is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. George defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. George wriggles onto his back under a barage of strikes. George slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Ramierez misses with a head shot. George uses the momentum to regain guard. Ramierez trying to stand up but can't free himself from George's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now George is on top in guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. George has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ramierez's body.

George shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ramierez defends it nicely. George looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ramierez stuffs the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edward George. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ramierez darts in and clinches George up against the cage. Ramierez jumps guard.

No luck for George with that takedown attempt. Ramierez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows George to score an easy takedown into full guard. George is standing up over Ramierez. Ramierez looks to escape but George dives into side control.
George has control of an arm but Ramierez manages to advance to George's back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. George manages to escape to a better position under a series of strikes. Ramierez is now in side control. George regains half guard there - taking advantage of Ramierez's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Ramierez wants to advance to full mount but George doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Ramierez controls from within his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. George is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ramierez is looking to control George's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ramierez avoid being mounted? George is nestled in close to Ramierez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ramierez actively working from the bottom here. Ramierez keeping control of the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ramierez trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
George tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! George prevents Ramierez from getting the reversal. Hector Ramierez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Edward George is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. George takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Edward George. Well I reckon that's a shut out for George, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
