Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charles Briscoe (ranked 4745 p4p, 374 weight class) and Alan Levy (ranked 4550 p4p, 364 weight class). Alan Levy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charles Briscoe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alan Levy! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Briscoe gets tackled into the cage by Levy. Levy maintains the clinch. Levy tries to break free but Briscoe pushes him back against the cage. Briscoe tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Levy avoids it. Come on Levy - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Briscoe prevents Levy from breaking the clinch. Levy breaks from the clinch.
Briscoe doesn't succeed with the takedown and Levy counters with a right hand to the body. Levy throws a good cross that connects.
Briscoe takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Levy bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Levy takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Briscoe fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Briscoe has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Grind Time -$899 [ 9 All Elite Coaches] in the buildup to the fight. Briscoe throws a hook but Levy blocks it. Briscoe backing away here, and Levy unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Levy misses with a few strikes there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Levy clinches up against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Levy is trying to break the clinch but Briscoe is controlling him. Levy lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Levy wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Briscoe has him pressed against the cage. Briscoe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Briscoe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Levy to counter with a crisp jab. Levy clinches. Levy throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Briscoes head. A frustrated look appears on Levy's face as he tries to break the clinch. Briscoe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Levy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Briscoe doesn't succeed with the takedown and Levy counters with a straight right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charles Briscoe. That's going to take a lot out of him. Briscoe throws a jab when Levy was well out of range. Levy clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Briscoe has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Levy after a bit of a struggle. Levy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sloppy strikes from Levy. Those never looked like landing. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Levy connects with a single shot there. Levy looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Briscoe misses with a hook
and Levy counters with a nice uppercut. Briscoe tries for a takedown but Levy circles away easily and Levy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Levy has managed to clinch.
Levy manages to break the clinch.
Briscoe tries to keep at a distance but Levy has taken the fight into the clinch. Briscoe letting Levy take a breather here. Levy breaks the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Levy pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Briscoe back to the cage. Levy follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Briscoe swings for the body but Levy moves out of range.
Briscoe missing with a left hand there. Levy was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Briscoe throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Levy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Levy attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Briscoe swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Levy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Briscoe thinking. Briscoe thows a left - swing and a miss! Briscoe works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Briscoe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Levy pinned against the cage. Levy gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Briscoe takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Briscoe getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Levy moves into range and clinches up with Briscoe. A short right from Levy on the inside.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Levy misses with a short punch on the inside. Levy avoiding damage as Briscoe throws knees to the body.
Levy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Charles Briscoe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Levy lands the left hand. Briscoe steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Levy. That one must have hurt. Briscoe gets a clinch. Briscoe drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Levy gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Levy blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Levy breaks from the clinch.
Levy drives through with a takedown into guard. Briscoe manages to escape and get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alan Levy dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Levy lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Charles Briscoe has been cut. Briscoe throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Levy to counter with a crisp jab. Nice jab there from Briscoe. Briscoe scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Levy taking some punishment here, with Briscoe in his half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Briscoe passes to side control. Levy is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Briscoe has just dragged him back down to the mat. Briscoe lands some shots froms side control. Briscoe in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Briscoe is working Levy over with some ground and pound from side control. Levy is not content to let Briscoe control the position. Briscoe lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Briscoe is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Levy looks calm but he's in trouble here. Briscoe gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Levy is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Briscoe lets go of the hold and Levy can pop his arm back in it's socket.
