PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Evan Page (ranked 2154 p4p, 261 weight class) and Julius Wolf (ranked 2825 p4p, 330 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wolf fails with a takedown attempt. No luck for Wolf with that takedown attempt. Wolf takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Wolf will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Evan Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julius Wolf. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Page, as that shot connected.
Nice uppercut lands for Page. That snapped Wolf's head back.
Nice sprawl there from Page as Wolf shoots in. Page was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Wolf has a takedown stuffed. Page swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Evan Page seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Page lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Wolf has a takedown stuffed. Page lands with a right hand. Page uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Wolf is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Page cracks Wolf with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Wolf tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Page pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Wolf is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Evan Page! In his post fight interview, Evan Page started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
