Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Parker (ranked 126 p4p, 19 weight class) and Eric Staal (ranked 251 p4p, 35 weight class). Peter Parker could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Eric Staal's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
33 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Parker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 6 - 1, fighting out of New York, Eric Staal! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Staal bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Parker's head. Parker has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Staal finds it's way round the side to connect with Parker's head. Staal uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Parker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Staal paws at him with a jab and circles away. And Staal tries to counter it with a takedown but Parker pushes his down on his head and steps out. Staal scores with a leg kick.
Parker misses with a straight right. Staal with the counter takedown but Parker avoids it easily. Parker throws a shot from downtown. Staal moves away and avoids it. A combination from Staal does no damage. Parker looks to land a right hand but Staal moved out of range. Parker moves out of range of the strikes. Parker moves into the clinch. Parker taking a breather. Staal lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Parker backwards. Staal digs a right hand underneath Parker's ribcage. Parker let out a lung full of air as it connected. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Staal blocks an uppercut.
Parker lands a left hand.

That's one minute gone in the round. Staal tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Staal can't break the clinch.
Staal is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Parker can't fight it off and eventually Staal manages to take the fight to the floor. Parker looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Staal accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Parker preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Parker tries to land a sweep but no joy. Parker is working hard here to advance position. Parker pulls Staal in close to his closed guard and prevents Staal from doing any damage or advancing position. Staal with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Staal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Staal missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Staal throws an elbow that misses. Parker uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Staal's guard. Nice move by Parker! Staal bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Parker's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Staal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Parker pulls Staal in close to prevent any damage. Parker manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Staal manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Parker stopping the sweep attempt from Staal. Parker is fighting to break Staal's control of his arms but Staal is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Staal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Parker wants to control from the top but Staal keeps moving. Staal wants to hit a switch here but Parker passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Staal there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Staal gets back to half guard. Staal controlling the position well. Parker is thwarting Staal's attempts to control the position. Staal slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Parker is stalling in the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eric Staal dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Parker closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A head punch on the inside from Parker fails to land. Parker throws a head punch that misses. Parker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Parker misses with a looping right. Parker wants to clinch up but Staal keeps it at a distance. The crowd cheers as Parker lands an impressive looking overhand right. Staal doesn't seem phased though. Parker looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Parker tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Staal paws at him with a jab and circles away. Parker is looking to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Staal slips under a jab from Parker. And Staal tries to counter it with a takedown but Parker pushes his down on his head and steps out. Parker avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Staal misses with a hook. Parker ducked under it nicely. Parker just misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Parker scores with a jab. Staal acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Parker slips under a jab from Staal. Parker thows a left - swing and a miss! Parker has taken the fight to the clinch.

Staal throws a punch but it's blocked by Parker. Parker misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Parker tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Staal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Parker misses with a hook. Staal ducked under it nicely. Staal changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Parker misses with a straight left. Parker tries to clinch up. Staal swats away the attempt to clinch by Parker. Staal changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. A lazy left from Parker finds it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parker misses with a wild body shot. Staal tries a low kick but Parker avoids it. Staal has a takedown stuffed. Parker is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Staal. Parker is looking to clinch but Staal is avoiding it.
Staal tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Staal shoots in but no luck this time. Staal dodges the punch combination from Parker.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Staal throws a front kick aimed at Parker's knee but Parker avoids it well. Parker throws a body shot but no joy. Parker is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Parker wants to clinch. Staal tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. A telegraphed right hand from Staal misses the target. Staal fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Parker. Parker tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Parker jabs at Staal's body. Staal throws a low kick but Parker avoids it. Peter Parker is winning the standup battle so far. Staal connects with a nice looking jab.

Staal tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Good standup being displayed there by Parker as he connects with a hook. Parker throws a good cross that connects.
Staal is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Parker finds Staal's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Staal flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Parker lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Staal will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Peter Parker! Peter Parker tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
