Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Love! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tiao Alves! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Love clinches up against the cage. Alves stalling the fight.
Alves breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Alves closes this distance looking for a takedown but Love circles away. Love gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Alves counters with a head kick. That will keep Love thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Love clinches but Alves breaks the clinch and Alves counters with a shoot takedown. Love fights it but they end up in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Love is looking to sweep but instead, Alves has passed into half guard.
Love controlling the position for now. Love is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Alves pulls his head out easily. Love tries to roll over but Alves keeps him under control. Still in half guard, Alves seems content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Love does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Love trying to control from the bottom.
Love is trying to get back to full guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Alves tries for a takedown but Love sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. A head kick misses from Alves. Daniel Love seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Love tries to clinch but Alves moves away and Alves decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Love's guard. Love lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Alves! Alves's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Alves tries to hold on but Love postures up. Alves looks gassed! Alves is trying desperately to improve position. Love wants to control the pace but Alves is squirming around nicely. Love goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Alves turns into him and now he's in Love's guard.
Love is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Alves dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves trying to control the position but Love is working away. Love is looking for a sweep. Alves scores with a couple of short elbows. Love is looking to reverse the position. Love manages to work his way to half guard, despite Alves's best efforts. Alves is thwarting Love's attempts to control the position. Love is staying active underneath Alves, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Love trying to control but Alves postures up.
Alves is controlling the pace.
Love trying to hold on to Alves's head to control him but Alves postures up.
Love is pressing down on Alves's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Alves is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tiao Alves dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Love fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alves sprawls well initially but Love persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Alves is trying to maintain the position but Love is very close to passing his half guard. Alves is trying to escape back to his feet but Love uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Love looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Alves wants to control but Love postures up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Alves is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Love has just dragged him back down to the mat. Love taking a break here but Alves is having none of it and regains half guard.

Love wants to pass to mount but Alves is defending the position.

Alves shoots in for a takedown but Love shows good takedown defense. Love drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Love wants to control but Alves is keeping him busy. Love is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Alves knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Love lands a decent elbow from side control. Love lands an elbow. Alves is looking for a sweep. Alves can't do much from the bottom here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Love gets a takedown into half guard. Alves keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Alves is looking for a sweep. Love is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Love is looking for a kimura but Alves is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Love to get the leverage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Love is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Alves reverses the position - he's now on top in Love's guard. Love is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Alves stands and steps away. Love gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Alves shoots for a takedown but Love saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Love has his takedown stuffed so Alves counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Love tries to land a sweep but no joy. Love is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Daniel Love will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Love missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Love misses with a head shot. Alves uses the momentum to regain guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Love pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alves is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves looking to hit a scissor sweep but Love is one step ahead there. Alves managing to control the position. Love passes into half guard. Alves is concentrating on defense, preventing Love from advancing position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Love seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Alves trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Love has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Alves's face.
Alves is trying to reverse the position but instead Love has taken his back - oops! Love struggling to keep hold of the position.
Love scores with punches to the body. Love biding his time, controlling Alves. Love lands punches and elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Love is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Alves won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Love off his unconscious opponent!
