Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cal Riven (ranked 3978 p4p, 392 weight class) and Roy Whitaker (ranked 3054 p4p, 329 weight class). Riven comes to the cage accompanied by Man In The Box. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riven lands an overhand right.

It looks like Roy Whitaker has been cut.
Riven looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Riven throws a poor cross that misses
and Whitaker counters with a left to the body.
Whitaker throws a nice looking combination but Riven bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Whitaker fails to land with a series of punches.
Whitaker has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Riven pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Whitaker throws a series of punches but Riven avoids them all with ease.

As Whitaker tries to get set, Riven tries to push him back and clinch up but Whitaker manages to avoid the attempt.

No joy there for Whitaker , who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Cal Riven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

As Whitaker looks to move away, Riven throws a big counter combo but Whitaker just gets out of the way.
Whitaker swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Riven.
Riven throws a right hand that misses
and Whitaker counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Whitaker throws a hook but Riven blocks it.
Whitaker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Riven.
Whitaker feints a jab promting Riven to slip. Whitaker then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Riven slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Whitaker scores with a body shot.

Riven is looking to slow Whitaker down with leg kicks.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Riven takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Whitaker works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Whitaker thuds a left hand into Riven's body.
Riven looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Riven lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Whitaker counters with a left right combination that sends Riven crashing to the mat - Whitaker wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Riven out for a TKO! Devastating finish!
