Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Kneipp (ranked 5890 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Pennilla (ranked 6064 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Robert Kneipp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chuck Pennilla!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pennilla shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kneipp but Kneipp pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pennilla tries for a takedown but Kneipp sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kneipp throws a jab when Pennilla was well out of range.
Horrible takedown attempt by Pennilla or perhaps it was just good defense by Kneipp, which made it look bad.
Robert Kneipp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Pennilla.
Pennilla takes one on the button.

Kneipp clinches.
Kneipp lands with a short head shot on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pennilla can't get the takedown.

Kneipp breaks from the clinch.
Kneipp throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pennilla on the side of the head.

Kneipp clinches up against the cage.

Kneipp breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Pennilla shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Pennilla decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Kneipp lands a jab to the head.
Pennilla swats away the attempt to clinch by Kneipp.
Pennilla steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Kneipp.
Pennilla fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Kneipp tries to score with a low kick but Pennilla moves his leg out of the way.

Kneipp is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pennilla takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Kneipp rushes Pennilla and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kneipp can't break the clinch.
Kneipp is leaning against Pennilla and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Kneipp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Pennilla tries to clinch but Kneipp is having none of it.

Pennilla moves into the clinch successfully.
Pennilla looking to slow down the pace here.

Pennilla breaks from the clinch.

Kneipp clinches up against the cage.
Kneipp is trying to push Pennilla away but Pennilla has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kneipp turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Pennilla bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Kneipp darts in and clinches Pennilla up against the cage.

Pennilla breaks from the clinch.
Kneipp misses with a body shot.
Kneipp scores with a three punch combo!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kneipp scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Kneipp wants to stand up but Pennilla is controlling the position.
Kneipp knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Pennilla on the ground.

Kneipp seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pennilla does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Kneipp not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kneipp with the ground and pound but Pennilla uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Pennilla tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pennilla trying to control the position.
Pennilla looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kneipp is one step ahead there.

Pennilla looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Kneipp takes the fight into the clinch.
Pennilla looking to stall.
Pennilla wants to take the fight to the mat but Kneipp manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Pennilla tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kneipp smiles and moves away.
Pennilla throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Kneipp counters with a straight right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pennilla changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kneipp looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Pennilla tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Kneipp tries to buck Pennilla off but Pennilla is having none of it.

Pennilla tries to move to mount but Kneipp blocks the move with his legs.

Pennilla stands up.
Nice takedown defense from Kneipp. No joy for Pennilla on that attempt.
Robert Kneipp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuck Pennilla.
Kneipp misses the shot to the body.
Robert Kneipp is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A punch combination from Kneipp misses.
A punch lands to the side of Pennilla 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Pennilla darts in and clinches Kneipp up against the cage.

Kneipp escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Pennilla blocks an elbow strike.
Kneipp gets through Pennilla's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Pennilla just leaning against Kneipp, taking a breather.
Pennilla can't get the takedown.

Pennilla pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kneipp throws a body shot but no joy.

Kneipp closes the distance and clinches.
Pennilla taking a breather.

Kneipp manages to break the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kneipp tries to close the distance and clinch but Pennilla swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And Pennilla tries to counter it with a takedown but Kneipp pushes his down on his head and steps out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kneipp clinches up against the cage.

Pennilla is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kneipp is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Pennilla to the mat. Pennilla regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Kneipp not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Kneipp is looking to work some ground and pound but Pennilla has wrist control.

Pennilla is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Kneipp has his hands clasped together but Pennilla extends and breaks Kneipp's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Pennilla.
