Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Katsuya Yasumi (ranked 2500 p4p, 255 weight class) and Colin Turnbull (ranked 2005 p4p, 218 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Katsuya Yasumi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Colin Turnbull! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turnbull with a jab.
It looks like Katsuya Yasumi has been cut. Some wild striking there from Yasumi.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Turnbull.
Yasumi avoids the head kick by Turnbull.
Turnbull connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Yasumi's hands. Yasumi has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Turnbull comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Turnbull throws the kick towards the body but Yasumi avoids it. Yasumi tried to counter with a leg kick but Turnbull avoided it. Yasumi throws a body punch but Turnbull moves out of range. Yasumi misses the body punch and Yasumi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Turnbull tests Yasumi's chin there with a solid looking shot. Yasumi needs to keep his hands up - Turnbull had a free shot at his head there.
Yasumi is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Turnbull throws a leg kick which misses Yasumi's front leg but catches the back leg as Yasumi tries to avoid it. Turnbull is looking to land body kicks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yasumi looks to score with a jab to the body but Turnbull is just out of range. Yasumi tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Turnbull was well out of range. Poor timing from Yasumi. Turnbull has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Turnbull scores with a jab to the jaw. Oh Yasumi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Yasumi throws a head kick that misses. Yasumi seems to have got his legs back now. Turnbull cracks the inside of Yasumi's front leg. Yasumi has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Turnbull finds it's way round the side to connect with Yasumi's head. Colin Turnbull is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Yasumi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Turnbull keeping full guard, as Yasumi tries to pass. Yasumi throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Turnbull works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Turnbull has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Yasumi won't allow Turnbull to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turnbull wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Yasumi trying to control the position from guard on top but Turnbull is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Yasumi throws a big shot that misses. A countering left hand to the body from Turnbull misses. Yasumi walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Yasumi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. It seemed like Turnbull was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Turnbull is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Yasumi.
It looks like Colin Turnbull has been cut. Yasumi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Turnbull with a body punch. A glancing blow. Yasumi misses with a straight left. Turnbull throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Yasumi is breathing heavily. Turnbull jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Turnbull lands with a kick to the ribs.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Turnbull. Colin Turnbull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Turnbull throws a quick inside leg kick. Turnbull jabs Yasumi to the body, keeping him at a distance. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Turnbull lands a big right hand that sends Yasumi crashing to the mat! Turnbull stays standing though and waves Yasumi back to his feet! Turnbull throws an overhand right that drops Yasumi like a sack of potatoes! Turnbull dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
