Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gerry Kelly (ranked 249 p4p, 40 weight class) and Solomon Kahn (ranked 636 p4p, 99 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Gerry Kelly has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Gerry Kelly seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Solomon Kahn!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kahn works the jab nicely.
Kahn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kelly.
Kahn throws a hook but Kelly avoids it easily.
Kelly throws out a powerful jab.


It looks like Solomon Kahn has been cut.
Kelly throws a lazy head kick
and Kahn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kelly looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Kelly uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kahn.
Kelly is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kahn.
Kahn misses with an uppercut
and Kelly counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kelly throws a nice inside leg kick.
Kelly throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kahn lands a jab to the nose.
A jab from Kahn misses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kahn fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kahn lands a leg kick that knocks Kelly off balance momentarily.
Kahn scores with a nice strike.
Kahn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kelly feints and then cracks Kahn's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kahn down.

Kahn missing with a left hand there. Kelly was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kelly connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kahn's hands.
Kelly feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kahn's calf.

Kelly uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kahn.
Kahn throws out a loose jab but Kelly uses good head movement to avoid it.
Kelly looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
A jab from Kahn does it's job there.
Kelly cracks the inside of Kahn's front leg.
Kahn checks a low kick from Kelly.
Kelly misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kelly misses with the combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kahn takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kelly throws a head kick that misses.
A nice side step and Kahn releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Kelly slips under a jab from Kahn.
Kelly feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Kahn drops his hands momentarily and Kelly takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kahn might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Kelly scores with a hook.
Kahn throws a jab when Kelly was well out of range.

Kahn keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Kelly uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kahn.

Kahn throws out a counter right but Kelly avoids it with no problem.
Kahn throws a jab when Kelly was well out of range.
As Kahn looks to move away, Kelly throws a big counter combo but Kahn just gets out of the way.
Kahn blocks the body kick.
The fighters circling - Kelly throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kahn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kelly.
Kahn tests Kelly's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Kelly misses with a low kick.
The fighters circle momentarily. Kahn darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Kelly lands a glancing blow to the side of Kahn's head.
Kahn misses the shot to the body.

Kelly lands a high kick to the side of Kahn's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Kelly dives into guard, looking to finish.


Kahn is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kahn tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kahn is still in real trouble! Can Kelly finish him?
Kahn is trying to control the position but Kelly postures up.

Kelly gets to his feet. Kahn looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kelly throws a monster overhand right that drops Kahn! Kelly follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gerry Kelly!
Gerry Kelly retains his light heavyweight title!
A very excited looking Gerry Kelly made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
