Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Williams Trujillo (ranked 9044 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo David (ranked 6982 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Williams Trujillo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo David! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trujillo forces David back against the cage and clinches. Trujillo is stalling here.

Trujillo is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Trujillo is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but David is keeping busy. Trujillo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Trujillo tries to close the distance and clinch up but David swats him away and circles back towards the center. A momentary lapse in concentration from David enables Trujillo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. David manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. David is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Trujillo is controlling him. Trujillo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Trujillo is working David over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. David looking to sweep here. No luck so far. David is looking for a triangle here but Trujillo uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

David has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Trujillo is working away from the top position though. Trujillo is figuring out what he wants to do next. Trujillo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Trujillo is keen to just control but David is a slippery customer. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. David wants to get back to full guard. Trujillo is trying to control. David wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. David looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trujillo moves in looking to clinch but David pushes him off. David drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Trujillo defends it well. Trujillo misses with a lunging right hand
and David connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Trujillo darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Is there anything that David can do to turn this around? David is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Trujillo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Trujillo's back! David is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Trujillo works his way back into a safe position though. Trujillo scoring with some ground and pound. David is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Trujillo defends well. David is breathing heavily. Trujillo connects with a couple of short punches. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. David is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. David is keen to just control but Trujillo is a slippery customer. Trujillo is trying to maintain the position but David is very close to passing his half guard. David is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's four minutes gone in the round. David is thwarting Trujillo's attempts to control the position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Trujillo is looking to improve his position.
Trujillo is staying active underneath David, who seems content to just control the action from this position. David uses his free foot to push down on Trujillo's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Trujillo. Trujillo is looking to get to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Trujillo bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! David has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Trujillo should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, David has tightened it up now! Trujillo should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
