Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Indigo Starseed (ranked 12783 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greco Roman (ranked 9463 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 5 losses; Indigo Starseed! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 18 wins and 13 losses; Greco Roman!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Roman pulls guard.
Starseed controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Roman is adopting a defensive guard.
Roman's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've been hearing good reports from Starseed's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Starseed is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Roman really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Starseed.
Roman looking to break Starseed's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Starseed remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Roman will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Roman wins on points by 9 to 4.
Greco Roman bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
Indigo Starseed was interviewed post fight and said 'Dude, Garfield was a lot tougher than the comic strip version haha... No but seriosuly best 2-3? You owe me another chance to put in a real show for the fans! Good fight man! I'll be back! Better and stronger! Broken analog Pride never quits!'. |
