Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kyoji Kubota (ranked 7246 p4p, 313 weight class) and Chief Waters (ranked 4241 p4p, 212 weight class). Kubota comes to the cage accompanied by Sweet Inspiration by Hiroshi Satoh. Chief Waters acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kyoji Kubota!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Waters!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Hemmingworth and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Waters shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kubota is trying to defend but Waters finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kubota has hold of Waters's hands but Waters slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kubota wants to control but Waters is keeping busy.
Waters missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kubota trying to hold on to Waters's head to control him but Waters postures up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Kubota's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Waters shoots in for a double leg but Kubota sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kyoji Kubota.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kubota, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
