Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lyman Shaw (ranked 5974 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Bell (ranked 25133 p4p, 0 weight class). Lyman Shaw is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lyman Shaw! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Russell Bell! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shaw clinches. Bell looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Bell tries to circle away but Shaw has him pinned against the cage. Bell wants to get back to striking at distance but Shaw won't allow it.
A right hand to the body from Bell.
Shaw tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Bell gets a double leg takedown into Shaw's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaw pulls Bell in to control the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Shaw trying to control the position from guard on top but Bell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shaw really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shaw jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Shaw is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Shaw's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Shaw postures up and lands a big shot to Bell's brow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Shaw trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Shaw sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bell's guard. Shaw with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Further stalling from Shaw. Shaw is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bell has managed to free his arm - good work. Shaw takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw working over Bell with some ground and pound. Bell looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Shaw is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Bell sees it coming and defends easily. Bell on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Shaw seems to be working for a kimura but Bell defends the submission attempt. Bell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Shaw seems to be looking for submissions.
Shaw will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bell has hold of Shaw's hands but Shaw slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Bell is staying active underneath Shaw, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaw looking for a submission but Bell manages to get full guard, putting an end to that submission attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shaw is looking to score with low kicks. Shaw throws a combination that misses and Bell counters with a lovely straight right hand! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bell tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Bell is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shaw is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Shaw scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Bell to see if he's OK. Shaw looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Shaw goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Bell throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shaw stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Shaw rushes Bell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Shaw is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bell to keep the fight standing. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Shaw tries to pull guard but Bell forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Bell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Shaw drops back looking for a leg! Bell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bell manages to kick Shaw off! Shaw jumps back into Bell's guard. Shaw trying to control but Bell is working from the bottom. Shaw's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shaw's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Shaw is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Shaw is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Bell is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Bell has escaped and now he's on top! Bell is looking to stand up but Shaw won't let him. Shaw controlling Bell's posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shaw pushes Bell off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Bell avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bell wants to counter with a clinch but Shaw pushes him away. Shaw shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bell as he jumps to the side. No luck with that takedown attempt from Shaw. Bell avoids the head kick by Shaw.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Shaw closes the distance and clinches up with Bell, looking for a takedown. Shaw pushes Bell against the cage but Bell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Bell keeps the fight on the outside. Bell now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Bell throws a combination. Shaw tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Shaw doesn't manage to clinch there - Bell circles away.
Shaw misses with a takedown and Bell counters with a three punch combo that has Shaw backing up. Shaw nods at Bell to acknowledge the strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Russell Bell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Lyman Shaw is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shaw keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Russell Bell. I think Shaw has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
