The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A solid body kick from Patryk. Patryk plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Taivon Arsett has been cut. Patryk takes the fight into the clinch. Arsett is pressed up against the cage. Patryk has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Arsett down to the mat. Arsett avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Patryk throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Arsett's head. Patryk throws a head kick that misses and Arsett counters with a three punch combo that has Patryk backing up. Patryk nods at Arsett to acknowledge the strikes. Patryk's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Patryk's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Patryk rushes Arsett with punches - Arsett moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Arsett goes down! Patryk follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lukasz Patryk! After the fight, Lukasz Patryk was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
