Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Marks (ranked 3706 p4p, 410 weight class) and Niudu Kakka (ranked 2995 p4p, 341 weight class). Marks kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I'm Not a Gentleman. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gregory Marks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Niudu Kakka! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kakka looks to land a combination but Marks avoids it well. It looked like Marks wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Kakka scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Kakka shoots in and gets a takedown into Marks's guard. Marks looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kakka has picked Marks up and slammed him! Marks can't keep hold of the triangle and Kakka manages to pass to side control! Marks is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Marks is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Forge, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Marks trying to control but Kakka postures up.

Marks is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kakka is landing with some decent strikes but Marks is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. This has been an exciting period of action! Marks tries to hold on but Kakka postures up. Marks is working to get back to half guard.
Kakka lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Marks hang on? Kakka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kakka controlling from the full mount. Marks slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Marks trying to control here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kakka throws a strike but Marks avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Kakka told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Marks tries to strike from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Marks is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. That's three minutes gone in the round. Marks pulls Kakka in to control the position. Marks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kakka doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kakka manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Marks is trying to keep Kakka in close.
Marks is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Kakka has his hands clasped together but Marks extends and breaks Kakka's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Marks.
