Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Orval James (ranked 7550 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Suarez (ranked 7810 p4p, 0 weight class). Kim Suarez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Orval James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kim Suarez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Suarez did well to prevent James getting side control.
Suarez looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
James looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
James passes to side control.

James decides to take the fight back to the feet.

James feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
James slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells James's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

James's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

James tries for a takedown but Suarez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

James tries to stand but Suarez is controlling from the bottom.
James is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

James postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

James really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

James is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Suarez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. James tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Suarez is in James's guard.

James has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Suarez has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

James gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Suarez regains guard.
James would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

James closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Suarez's guard.

James closes the distance and clinches up with Suarez, looking for a takedown. James pushes Suarez against the cage but Suarez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

James controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

James decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

James seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Suarez for as long as he can get away with.
James seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Suarez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

James continues to stall.
More hug and hope from James.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Orval James overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
James wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
James shoots for a double leg takedown but Suarez sprawls well. He's pushed James's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

James looks for a takedown but Suarez sprawls well.
Suarez swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orval James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Suarez misses with a series of wild punches.
James throws a big counter combination but Suarez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Suarez gets caught napping as James dives in and scores a takedown. Suarez manages to retain guard.

James has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
This is a sustained period of stalling by James.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Suarez is working an open guard so James takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Kim Suarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Suarez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

James will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

James has Suarez up against the cage in a clinch.

James pulls Suarez into guard.
Suarez is fighting to break James's control of his arms but James is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now James is on top in guard.

James is working Suarez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

James wants to pass the guard but Suarez is keeping the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

James has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

And that's the end of the fight!
Orval James showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for James, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
