Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bodonchar Munkhag! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rodolfo Auwkerham! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Auwkerham ducks under a wild hook from Munkhag. Auwkerham throws a counter combo. Munkhag moves into the clinch. Munkhag lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Munkhag taking a breather. Auwkerham avoids a wild elbow strike from Munkhag. Munkhag definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Munkhag comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Munkhag keeps control of Auwkerham as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. With the fighters up against the cage, Munkhag throws an elbow but misses. Munkhag lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Rodolfo Auwkerham has been cut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Auwkerham blocks an elbow strike. Munkhag pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Munkhag really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Auwkerham is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Munkhag can't fight it off and eventually Auwkerham manages to take the fight to the floor. Munkhag looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Munkhag is adopting a defensive guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Munkhag is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Auwkerham has his hands clasped together but Munkhag extends and breaks Auwkerham's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Munkhag.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Bodonchar Munkhag! During a confident post fight interview, Bodonchar Munkhag thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him. In defeat, Rodolfo Auwkerham stepped up to the mic, saying 'yaw man!'.
