Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Elias Olsen (ranked 5988 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Cote (ranked 5943 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elias Olsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kevin Cote! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Olsen gets caught napping as Cote dives in and scores a takedown. Olsen manages to retain guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Cote wants to control from the top but Olsen keeps moving. Cote pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Olsen is keeping the position for now. Olsen looking for a guillotine here but Cote defends easily.
Olsen tries to land a sweep but no joy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Olsen is wriggling around but Cote manages to pass to half guard.
Cote is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Olsen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like Cote might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Cote is continuing to stall. Olsen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Olsen is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cote pulls his head out easily. Cote seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Olsen gets caught napping as Cote dives in and scores a takedown. Olsen manages to retain guard. Cote advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Olsen is trying to stand.
Cote seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Olsen throws a strike from the bottom but Cote passes into side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Cote sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Olsen is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Cote is looking to take a break and control but Olsen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Olsen tries to improve position but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Olsen regains half guard there - taking advantage of Cote's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Olsen misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Olsen is looking to escape. Olsen is staying active underneath Cote, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cote controlling the action here. Cote tries to pass the half guard into mount. Olsen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Cote content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kevin Cote dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Cote drives through with a takedown into Olsen's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Cote trying to control but Olsen is working from the bottom. Cote got a little sloppy there for a moment and Olsen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cote has managed to get both his arms back between Olsen's legs - danger averted. Kevin Cote has got the better of the ground game so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cote content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cote wants to control from the top but Olsen keeps moving. Olsen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Cote trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Olsen manages to land a sweep and now he's on top! Cote controlling the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cote can do anything to dispel that myth. Cote keeping moving, preventing Olsen from controlling successfully. Cote wants to sweep here but Olsen controlling him for the moment. Olsen throws a big right hand that misses. Olsen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Olsen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote shoots in and gets a takedown into Olsen's guard. Cote postures up.
Cote controls from within his opponent's guard. Cote looking to sit in guard and control but Olsen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Olsen trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cote's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Olsen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cote is keeping the position for now. Cote seems keen to control Olsen's posture. Olsen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cote swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cote looking to hit a scissor sweep but Olsen is one step ahead there. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Olsen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Elias Olsen will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Cote has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Cote prevents Olsen from improving his position. Cote with the ground and pound but Olsen uses the opportunity to regain guard. Cote controls from within his opponent's guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Olsen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cote manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jab, jab by Cote - just one landing. Cote shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Olsen is trying to defend but Cote finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Cote is trying to control. Olsen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Cote wants to advance to full mount but Olsen doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Cote really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Olsen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cote stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Olsen swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cote controls from within his opponent's guard.

And that's the end of the fight! Kevin Cote comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Cote has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
