Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ramon Gracie (ranked 37 p4p, 7 weight class) and Paul Warror (ranked 138 p4p, 26 weight class). Gracie's entrance music is Jiu Jitsu: Vai Finaliza!. A fine choice. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ramon Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Warror!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Warror moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Warror throws a leg kick that is checked

and Gracie counters with a takedown into side control.
Gracie creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Warror sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Gracie throwing strikes but Warror manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Gracie tries to improve position but can't.
Warror wants to stand but Gracie has his arm trapped.
Gracie is not content to let Warror control the position.
Warror wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his arm.

Gracie tries to bench press Warror off him but Warror keeps the position.
Gracie is working hard here to advance position.
Gracie is trying to control Warror's posture but Warror avoids it.
Warror remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Gracie tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gracie is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Warror off and has taken his back!
Gracie lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Gracie.
Gracie cracks Warror with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Warror from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Gracie lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Will Gracie go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Gracie has Warror flattened out and is raining down punches.

Gracie is persistently looking for the submission but Warror is defending it well.

Warror is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gracie off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Warror throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Warror looks to land a left hand but Gracie moved out of range nicely.
Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Warror defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Warror into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Warror fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Gracie appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown. Warror fights it but they end up in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Warror swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Warror knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Warror wants to control but Gracie is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Gracie content to control rather than advance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gracie connects with a nice short shot to Warror's temple.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
