Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harvey Dent (ranked 4155 p4p, 531 weight class) and Soda Popinski (ranked 3909 p4p, 506 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Harvey Dent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Soda Popinski! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dent chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Popinski can pounce on him.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Popinski. Dent shrugs it off though. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Dent crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Popinski - the referee stops the clock and Dent gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Popinski. Dent manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Popinski fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Good leg kick by Popinski there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Popinski throws a lazy head kick and Dent counters with a nice double leg into side control. Popinski won't be happy with that. Dent has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. This has been an exciting period of action! Dent is looking to take a break and control but Popinski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Popinski parries the strikes from Dent easily there. Dent is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Popinski to escape.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Dent working the ground and pound but Popinski is defending the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dent throwing shots but missing, from side control. Dent fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Popinski seems a little lost for a moment, as Dent dominates the positioning. Popinski takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Popinski prevents Dent from moving into mount. Dent wants to lay and pray for a moment but Popinski keeps working. Dent is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Popinski is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Popinski prevents Dent from moving into mount. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dent throws a strike aimed at the side of Popinski's head but Popinski avoids it well. Sloppy strikes there by Dent. Dent throws an elbow but Popinski slips to the side and avoids it well. Popinski defending against the ground and pound. Dent in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Dent cracks Popinski with a big elbow. Popinski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dent. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Popinski takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Popinski is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The strikes coming from Dent are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Popinski felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Dent with the ground and pound but Popinski regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Dent throwing shots but Popinski is blocking nicely. Popinski has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dent is working away from the top position though. Dent moves nicely into side control. Dent fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Dent working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Dent lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Popinski is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Popinski is not content to let Dent control the position.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Popinski parries the strikes from Dent easily there. Dent is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Popinski to escape.
Dent creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Dent tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Popinski is looking to reverse the position. Dent advances nicely into full mount. Dent lands a big shot there that rocks Popinski but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Dent throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Popinski because Dent loaded up on that one. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Dent cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Popinski is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Dent lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Popinski! Dent sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Popinski and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Harvey Dent!
