Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Belnick Riva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitus Shavnetski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riva kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Holymen - The Last Universe. Shavnetski comes into a darkened arena with his song building. DMX - get it on the floor kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Belnick Riva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vitus Shavnetski! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shavnetski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Riva as he avoids it easily. Riva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Riva stuffs the takedown. Shavnetski lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shavnetski looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Riva tries for a takedown but Shavnetski circles away easily so Shavnetski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Shavnetski looking to pass the guard. Shavnetski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Shavnetski trying to control the position from guard on top but Riva is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Riva wants to stand up but Shavnetski is controlling him. Riva is breathing heavily. Shavnetski trying to control but Riva is working from the bottom. Shavnetski advances to half guard. Riva trying to hold on to Shavnetski's head to control him but Shavnetski postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Riva on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Shavnetski. Shavnetski obviously looking to wear him down.
Riva looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Belnick Riva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Riva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Shavnetski lands a slapping body shot.
Riva fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Riva looks for a takedown but Shavnetski sprawls well. Riva is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Shavnetski. Riva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Riva throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shavnetski is trying to stand back up but Riva is controlling him
Shavnetski is pressing down on Riva's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Shavnetski looking to hit a scissor sweep but Riva is one step ahead there. Shavnetski managing to control the position. Shavnetski wants to stand and escape but Riva is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shavnetski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Shavnetski is pulling down on Riva's head. It's preventing any offense from Riva, at least for the moment. Riva thows a big elbow that misses. Shavnetski trying to control the position.
Shavnetski manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Riva manages to get himself to full guard.
Shavnetski wants to control from the top but Riva keeps moving. Riva controls Shavnetski momentarily but Shavnetski frees himself. Riva wants to stand and escape but Shavnetski is having none of it. Riva has his feet on Shavnetski's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shavnetski gets caught flat footed, as Riva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riva with a flurry of punches that miss. Riva stands and steps away. Shavnetski gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Riva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. and Shavnetski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Shavnetski connects with a crisp jab. Shavnetski shoots in for a takedown but Riva shows good takedown defense. Shavnetski thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Riva if he has to take too many more of those.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Horrible takedown by Riva or perhaps it was just good defense by Shavnetski which made him look bad. Shavnetski will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Riva shoots in and drives through. Shavnetski sprawls well. Shavnetski dances in with a quick combination. Riva is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from Shavnetski snaps Riva's head back. Riva stumbles backwards against the cage. Shavnetski steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Riva's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Riva just didn't come prepared.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Vitus Shavnetski!
