Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shane MacGowan (ranked 838 p4p, 117 weight class) and Hungarian Hotdog (ranked 2263 p4p, 261 weight class). MacGowan comes to the cage accompanied by The Pogues - Streams of Whiskey. Hotdog is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by George Ezra - Budapest. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hungarian Hotdog! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hotdog throws a shot from downtown. MacGowan moves away and avoids it. Hotdog misses with a two punch combination.

MacGowan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. MacGowan fails to land the takedown. Hotdog misses with a wild body shot. MacGowan lands a head shot. MacGowan circles away out of range and recomposes himself. MacGowan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hotdog. MacGowan misses with a body shot.

That took the wind out of him momentarily. MacGowan throws a hook but Hotdog avoids it easily. MacGowan slips a straight right by Hotdog. A slow jab from MacGowan misses its intended target. MacGowan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hotdog. A counter left hand to the body from MacGowan misses its target. Hotdog moves out of range of the strikes. Hungarian Hotdog is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hotdog throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

MacGowan looks for a takedown but Hotdog sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane MacGowan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hotdog cracks a nice hook into MacGowan's ribs. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. MacGowan blocks a jab. MacGowan swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hotdog. MacGowan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hotdog manages to avoid the submission attempt. MacGowan working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Hotdog is looking for a sweep. MacGowan tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. MacGowan advances nicely into full mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. MacGowan jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Hotdog manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Hotdog stops MacGowan from passing to mount. You can see the frustration on Hotdog's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. MacGowan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hotdog, who protects the arm well. MacGowan is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hotdog knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. MacGowan working away. MacGowan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hotdog is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Hotdog really doesn't want to stay on the ground with MacGowan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. MacGowan is looking to take a break and control but Hotdog is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. MacGowan is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hotdog is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shane MacGowan will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Hotdog catches MacGowan with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Hotdog has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hotdog there as he acknowledges the shot. Hotdog dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Hotdog takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Hotdog lands a nice shot to the body.
Nice shot by Hotdog. Hotdog thuds his right hand into MacGowan's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Hotdog loads up on a big right hand but MacGowan slips the punch. Hotdog throws out a powerful jab. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. MacGowan uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hotdog. Hotdog throws a body shot but no joy. Hotdog misses with a body shot.
Hotdog throws a hook but MacGowan blocks it. MacGowan throws a wild combination but nothing lands. MacGowan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big left from Hotdog misses. MacGowan walks into a stiff left hand from Hotdog. A big left from Hotdog misses. Hotdog throws a body punch but MacGowan moves out of range. MacGowan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hotdog throws out the jab. MacGowan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Hotdog looks to land a right hand but MacGowan moved out of range. MacGowan connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. MacGowan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. MacGowan tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no MacGowan has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! MacGowan is looking to take a break and control but Hotdog is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hotdog is trying to improve his position.

Hotdog is squirming around, avoiding MacGowan's attempts to control the action. Hotdog is trying to stand up. MacGowan moves to the back position. MacGowan is looking for the choke from the back position but Hotdog is controlling his hands well. Hotdog defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of MacGowan's arms. MacGowan keeps control of the position as Hotdog tries to break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. MacGowan tries to keep control of the position but Hotdog is staying busy. MacGowan is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Hotdog knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Hotdog for a finish. MacGowan controlling well, preventing Hotdog from escaping the position.
Hotdog is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get MacGowan off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. MacGowan has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hotdog has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Hotdog remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise MacGowan will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! MacGowan is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Hotdog defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! MacGowan is looking to control Hotdog but Hotdog is wriggling around and keeping busy. Hotdog is trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hotdog throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Hotdog takes a swing at MacGowan's ribcage but misses. MacGowan appears to be looking for a big counter. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hotdog takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Let's see what he's got on the ground. MacGowan wants to take a breather but Hotdog is having none of it. MacGowan is looking to take a break and control but Hotdog is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hotdog can do anything to dispel that myth. MacGowan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. MacGowan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. MacGowan is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hotdog can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round. MacGowan takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. MacGowan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hotdog can do to turn this around? Hotdog tries to hold on but MacGowan postures up. MacGowan sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Hotdog is trying desperately to improve position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Hotdog is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, MacGowan has taken his back.
MacGowan just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Hungarian Hotdog has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hotdog tries to escape but MacGowan has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
And that's the end of the fight! Shane MacGowan showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for MacGowan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
