Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ed Ruth (ranked 305 p4p, 44 weight class) and Rudi Dassler (ranked 672 p4p, 108 weight class). Ed Ruth is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Ruth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Rudi Dassler! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ruth misses with a few strikes there.
Ruth feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Dassler sprawling to the canvas! Dassler rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ruth finish him?!
It looks like Rudi Dassler has been cut. Dassler closes the distance and clinches up with Ruth, looking for a takedown. Dassler pushes Ruth against the cage but Ruth circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Dassler shoots for a double leg takedown but Ruth sprawls well. He's pushed Dassler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Dassler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ruth sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dassler somewhat. Ed Ruth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rudi Dassler. Ruth swings for the body but Dassler moves out of range.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Dassler tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ruth sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dassler somewhat.

Dassler feints and as Ruth raises his hands in defense, Dassler changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dassler pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ruth is keeping the position for now. Dassler is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Dassler throws a big right hand that misses. Dassler throws a big elbow that misses. Ruth has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ruth avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ruth preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Ruth wants to sweep but no luck. Dassler pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Ruth is keeping the position for now. Ruth might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ruth is adopting a defensive guard. Ruth is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Dassler slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ruth's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Dassler is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Dassler is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ruth is aware though and is defending well. Ruth scoring with some ground and pound. Ruth avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Dassler looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Ruth is defending well. Dassler quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Ruth has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Dassler celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
