Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jack Mercer (ranked 6414 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tevin Felix (ranked 5894 p4p, 0 weight class). Tevin Felix has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Mercer enables Felix to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mercer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Felix pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mercer is keeping the position for now.
Felix postures up in Mercer's guard and throws a big left but Mercer blocks it.
Felix wants to control from the top but Mercer keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Felix seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mercer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mercer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Felix manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mercer manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Felix's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Felix content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Mercer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mercer lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Felix stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mercer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Felix loads up on a big left hand. Mercer felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Felix looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Mercer can't hide his disappointment, as Felix celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tevin Felix!
Tevin Felix decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
