Dawson comes to the cage accompanied by Titanic theme. Sixx is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Fire of Power by WATAIN. Vinnie Sixx will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dawson looks to score with a jab to the body but Sixx is just out of range.
Sixx displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
A left lands for Sixx.
Sixx throws a left and a right that both miss

and Dawson counters with a nice right hand that sends Sixx toppling to the canvas! Sixx scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Dawson finish him?!

It looks like Vinnie Sixx has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sixx throws a series of punches but Dawson avoids them all with ease.
Sixx lands a right hook to the body.
Dawson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sixx swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dawson takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Dawson swats away the attempt to clinch by Sixx.
Sixx's corner calls for a 1-2. Sixx obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Vinnie Sixx seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dawson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dawson swings for the body but Sixx moves out of range.
Sixx is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Dawson fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sixx, pushing him back against the cage.

Sixx drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dawson comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

We've been hearing reports that Dawson has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Dawson drops Sixx with a big knee straight up the middle! Sixx is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
