The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shinji shoots in looking for a takedown. Farooqi tries to sprawl out of it but Shinji keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Farooqi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
No luck for Farooqi with that takedown attempt.
Farooqi closes the distance and clinches.
A frustrated look appears on Shinji's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Shinji is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Shinji tries to close the distance and clinch but Farooqi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shinji shoots in looking for a takedown but Farooqi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shinji's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Shinji shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Farooqi but Farooqi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
