33 - 20 - 4, fighting out of Helsinki, Marek Koltun! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
32 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Takeshi Naoki! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Gregory Folan and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Naoki throws a right hand that misses
enabling Koltun to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Takeshi Naoki has been cut. Naoki lands a leg kick that knocks Koltun off balance momentarily. Naoki keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Koltun rushes Naoki and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Koltun scores with an uppercut up the middle. Nice body punch from Naoki. Koltun scores with a shoulder strike. Naoki fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Naoki will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Koltun up against the cage. Koltun goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

They are putting on a show! Koltun blocks a head kick by Naoki.

and Koltun counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Naoki throws a jab but it's blocked by Koltun. Koltun fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Naoki to the ground. Koltun is now in Naoki's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Koltun is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Naoki is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Naoki has escaped and now he's on top! Koltun trying to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Koltun is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Koltun is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Naoki still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Naoki has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work! Naoki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Naoki gets caught napping as Koltun dives in and scores a takedown. Naoki manages to retain guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Koltun with a flurry of punches that miss. Naoki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Koltun is looking to work some ground and pound but Naoki has wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koltun distracts Naoki with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Koltun trying to control but Naoki is working from the bottom. Koltun postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Koltun looking to sit in guard and control but Naoki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Koltun is trying to keep Naoki in close.
Koltun is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Naoki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Koltun wants to control but Naoki is having none of it. Naoki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Koltun is looking to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Naoki sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Koltun regains half guard. Koltun is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Naoki can do to turn this around? The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Koltun controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. We've been informed that Naoki has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Naoki scores to the head and body with a nice combination! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Koltun checks a leg kick. A nice inside leg kick there by Koltun. That's going to slow Naoki down. Koltun throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Naoki stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Naoki throws a head kick that misses. Koltun feinted with a counter takedown. Koltun scores with a jab to the body. Takeshi Naoki has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Naoki takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Koltun works the jab nicely. Naoki takes a swing at Koltun's ribcage but misses. Naoki throws out a loose jab but Koltun uses good head movement to avoid it. Naoki throws a nice looking combination but Koltun bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Koltun feinted with a counter takedown. Koltun thuds a left hand into Naoki's body. Koltun uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Naoki. Naoki throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Koltun stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A looping hook to the body misses from Naoki. Koltun does a little dance to reset his feet. Koltun scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Koltun misses with the ground and pound. Koltun is trying to get an arm triangle but Naoki is defending well. You can see the frustration on Naoki's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Marek Koltun is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Koltun controls the position. Marek Koltun overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Koltun has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
And that's the end of the fight! Marek Koltun showed his dominance in that final round. Well Koltun has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
