Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brent King (ranked 5536 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Volchenko (ranked 19563 p4p, 0 weight class). Volchenko has chosen Roar of the Lion as his entrance music. Ivan Volchenko will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Brent King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Ivan Volchenko! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Volchenko misses with a kick to the body.
King takes the fight into the clinch. King tries to break free but Volchenko pushes him back against the cage. Volchenko looking to stall.
King is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Volchenko to keep the fight standing. Volchenko lands a left hand.
King tries for a takedown. No joy.
King fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brent King. That's going to take a lot out of him. King tries to pull guard but Volchenko forces him back to his feet, against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volchenko stops a takedown attempt from King.
Volchenko blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. A head punch blocked on the inside by Volchenko. King drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
King ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. King no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if King tries to get out of the position. Volchenko drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and King dives on top into guard. King wants to pass the guard but Volchenko is keeping the position. King is working hard here to advance position. Volchenko is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Volchenko tries to pass the half guard into mount. King knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Volchenko is looking for a kimura here.

Volchenko must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Volchenko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. King is keeping the position for now. King might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. King trying to strike off his back.
King really is a fat lump. Volchenko postures up and lands a big shot to King's brow. Volchenko is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Volchenko preventing the sweep. Volchenko working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of King's head. Volchenko throws an elbow that misses. King uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Volchenko's guard. Nice move by King! Volchenko is looking to stand up but King isn't so interested in that idea. Volchenko is trying to keep King in close.
Volchenko can't keep his opponent in guard - King advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. King looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We've been informed that Volchenko has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. King wants to take a breather but Volchenko is having none of it.

King is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Volchenko defends it well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Volchenko is looking to improve his position.

That was a close round but I would say that Brent King will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Volchenko throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. King was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Volchenko looks to land a right hand but King moved out of range. King circles away from the clinch attempt.

King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet. Volchenko throws a left and a right that both miss
and King counters by moving into the clinch. Volchenko taking a breather. King tries to break free but Volchenko pushes him back against the cage. King fails to pull the fight into his guard.
King misses with a hook to the ribs.

King is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Volchenko pulls him back up using the underhooks. King struggles to land a body shot inside as Volchenko controls his hands.
Volchenko misses with a hook from the clinch. King jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Volchenko walks away with a smile on his face. King gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brent King. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Volchenko misses with a takedown attempt and King counters with a single leg into guard. Volchenko didn't expect that. Volchenko looking for a sweep. Not yet Volchenko, not yet. King is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. King looking to pass the guard. King thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. King wants to pass the guard but Volchenko is keeping the position. King drops back, looking for a kneebar! Volchenko looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Volchenko looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Volchenko!
That's two minutes gone in the round. King is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Volchenko off and has taken his back! King gets his hands free as Volchenko looks to control. King is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Volchenko is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if King gets his way!

King wants to control but Volchenko is keeping busy.

King is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Volchenko can do to turn this around? I would not like to be Volchenko right now.

King is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Volchenko has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. King looking for the choke but no joy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. King not allowing Volchenko to control his hands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King wants to take the fight to the mat but Volchenko manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. King pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volchenko is trying hard to land a takedown here. King sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Volchenko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

King is looking to break free of the clinch but Volchenko has double underhooks. Volchenko misses with a hook from the clinch. King tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Volchenko smiles and moves away.

King seems to be working for a kimura but Volchenko defends the submission attempt. Volchenko trying to control from the bottom.

King yanks on the arm and Volchenko is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by King.
