12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce Kang! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kang misses the body punch and Williams counters with a left to the body. Williams's corner calls for a 1-2. Williams obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Kang throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Williams. Williams moves into the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Williams fails to land. Williams tries to work over Kang's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A short right from Kang on the inside. Williams tries to throw a body punch but Kang avoids it by throwing Williams back against the ropes. Kang lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Williams works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
I was talking to Williams's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Williams throws a head punch that misses. Williams working some nice short punches in the clinch. Kang blocking some punches.
