Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Wid (ranked 2505 p4p, 287 weight class) and Costel Rohozeanu (ranked 2282 p4p, 264 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Thomas Wid! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Costel Rohozeanu! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rohozeanu throws a quick inside leg kick. Wid scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Rohozeanu is trying to get back to his feet. Rohozeanu wants to control but Wid postures up. Rohozeanu tries to bench press Wid off him but Wid keeps the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sloppy strikes there by Wid. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Rohozeanu taking punishment in the form of punches.
Rohozeanu is trying to escape the position but Wid is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rohozeanu is working to avoid the ground and pound but Wid connects with a decent elbow. A lull in the action here as Wid stalls from top position. Wid in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wid tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wid has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Wid wants to control but Rohozeanu is keeping him busy. Rohozeanu defending against the ground and pound. Wid staying calm. Wid connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Rohozeanu some visible discomfort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rohozeanu is looking to regain half guard here but Wid keeps moving and retains side control. Wid is looking to take a break and control but Rohozeanu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wid happy to just control the position for now. Sloppy strikes there by Wid.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wid postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Wid scoring with punches and elbows. Rohozeanu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Rohozeanu can't do much from the bottom here. Wid trying to control the action but Rohozeanu is working from the bottom. Wid controlling the position from side mount. Rohozeanu takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wid goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rohozeanu has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Wid but great work by Rohozeanu. Wid struggling a bit here. Wid is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rohozeanu's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Wid wants to improve his position but Rohozeanu is controlling well.
Wid makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wid. Wid throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Wid has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rohozeanu can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rohozeanu throws a right and a left that both miss. Wid looks to throw the jab but Rohozeanu is out of range. Wid is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Rohozeanu. Rohozeanu cracks Wid with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Wid takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Rohozeanu bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Rohozeanu tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Rohozeanu leaves Wid with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Wid misses with a straight left. Thomas Wid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rohozeanu misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rohozeanu connects with a jab. Rohozeanu ducks under a wild hook from Wid. Rohozeanu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A low kick from Rohozeanu misses and Wid counters with a takedown into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Rohozeanu being controlled for a moment. Wid postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
We've been informed that Rohozeanu has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wid lands an elbow. Rohozeanu is not content to let Wid control the position. Thomas Wid overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Wid throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Wid controls the position. The strikes coming from Wid are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Wid has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wid grinds an elbow into Rohozeanu's temple. Wid looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Wid lands a decent elbow from side control. Rohozeanu is trying to get back to half guard. Wid moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Wid working the head with strikes. Rohozeanu managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Wid.
Rohozeanu can't do much from the bottom here.

Wid is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rohozeanu can do to turn this around? Wid is trying to ground and pound but Rohozeanu uses the momentary lack of control by Wid to regain half guard. Wid is taking a breather. Rohozeanu says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rohozeanu gets full guard. Wid throwing strikes from guard but Rohozeanu blocks nicely. Rohozeanu is trying to keep Wid in close.
Wid passes into half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wid thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Rohozeanu is looking for a sweep. Wid is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Thomas Wid will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Wid fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Wid throws out a loose jab but Rohozeanu uses good head movement to avoid it. Rohozeanu throws a lazy head kick and Wid counters with a nice uppercut. Wid looks to land a left hand but Rohozeanu moved out of range nicely. A momentary lapse in concentration from Rohozeanu enables Wid to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rohozeanu manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Rohozeanu trying to control the position here. Rohozeanu keeping moving, preventing Wid from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wid content to stall in guard here. Wid's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Wid stopping the sweep attempt from Rohozeanu. Wid trying to control the position from guard on top but Rohozeanu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rohozeanu looks to score with a jab to the body but Wid is just out of range.

Wid is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rohozeanu trying to control the position.
Rohozeanu keeping moving, preventing Wid from controlling successfully. Rohozeanu avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Wid stands up over Rohozeanu, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wid is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Rohozeanu displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Wid jabbing away but nothing is landing. Rohozeanu drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wid defends it well. Rohozeanu slips a straight right by Wid. Rohozeanu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wid throws out the jab. Rohozeanu lands with a straight right. Wid didn't see that one coming. Wid throws a lazy right hand but Rohozeanu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Rohozeanu tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Rohozeanu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wid blocks a head kick by Rohozeanu.
Rohozeanu lands a two punch combo.
Wid closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rohozeanu quickly recovers to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wid looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Rohozeanu avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wid. Costel Rohozeanu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rohozeanu is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Wid jumps into side control! Wid lands a nice forearm strike. Rohozeanu on the wrong end of some ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The ground and pound from Wid seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Wid remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Wid showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wid, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
