The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've been told by Penn's head coaches at Top Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Wawelski throws a nice looking combination but Penn bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kosma Wawelski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wawelski throws a right hand that Penn ducks under and follows up with a left that Penn also avoids with ease.
Wawelski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Wawelski has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Penn takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Penn counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Wawelski is still on wobbly legs! Can Penn finish him?

Penn throws a pinpoint strike between Wawelski's hands that connects right on the jaw and sends Wawelski crashing to the floor! He's out before he even hits the mat and Penn scores a great knockout victory!

In his post fight interview, BJ Penn started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
