Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron McCall (ranked 5392 p4p, 490 weight class) and Tumleh Schmitt (ranked 3419 p4p, 354 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Aaron McCall has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Aaron McCall seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron McCall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Tumleh Schmitt! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCall moves in looking to clinch but Schmitt pushes him off. Schmitt throws a sloppy head kick and McCall moves out of range easily. McCall is looking to score with low kicks. Schmitt changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. McCall darts in looking for a takedown but Schmitt gets double underhooks and turns McCall into the cage. Schmitt tries to counter with a clinch but McCall shakes him off and moves away. A momentary lapse in concentration from McCall enables Schmitt to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. McCall manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. McCall seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. McCall is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. McCall is working hard here to advance position. Schmitt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Schmitt decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McCall, up you get! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schmitt moves away from the strike by McCall. Schmitt avoids a lazy jab quite easily. McCall fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Schmitt sprawls well initially but McCall persists and gets the takedown into half guard. McCall trying to advance position but Schmitt counters by regaining guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCall throwing strikes from guard but Schmitt blocks nicely. Schmitt controlling the position. McCall working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. McCall won't allow Schmitt to sweep him here. Schmitt controlling McCall's posture. McCall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Schmitt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from McCall. Schmitt looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Schmitt trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Schmitt passes McCall's right leg, so he's now in half guard. McCall wants to control but Schmitt is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schmitt seems to be working for a kimura but McCall defends the submission attempt. McCall on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Schmitt is trying to control the action in half guard but McCall is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Schmitt is working for a kimura here but McCall manages to reverse the position and he's now in Schmitt's guard.
McCall missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. McCall trying to control the position from guard on top but Schmitt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. McCall throws a strike but Schmitt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. McCall tries to land a sweep but no joy. Schmitt controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Schmitt postures up in McCall's guard and throws a big left but McCall blocks it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCall looking for a sweep. Not yet McCall, not yet. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schmitt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Schmitt slips nicely into half guard. McCall wants to improve his position but Schmitt is controlling well.
Schmitt is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McCall has managed to free his arm - good work. Schmitt thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McCall's head. Schmitt is trying for a kimura here. McCall looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Schmitt wins by kimura!
