Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deuce Ferrell (ranked 7909 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Evela (ranked 24018 p4p, 0 weight class). Evela comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Face The Pain kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Deuce Ferrell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Don Evela! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ferrell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Evela throws a counter combo. Evela jabbing away but nothing is landing. Ferrell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Ferrell controls the position. Evela gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Evela desperately trying to maintain half guard. Evela trying to control from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are battling for position here. Evela manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Evela throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Evela holds on and takes a little breather. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Evela is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evela pushes down on Ferrell's leg and manages to get into half guard. Ferrell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Evela is working away from the top position though. Evela trying to control the action but Ferrell is working from the bottom. Evela moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Ferrell. Evela sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Ferrell is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Ferrell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Evela wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Evela scoring with punches and elbows. Ferrell is not content to let Evela control the position. Evela tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Evela has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Ferrell tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Evela presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferrell is bucking up trying to escape but Evela cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Evela landing strikes from the mount. Evela moves to the back position. Evela scores with strikes from the back.
Ferrell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Evela on the ground. A lull in the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. What can Ferrell do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

This has been an exciting period of action! Ferrell staying busy and making it hard for Evela to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evela thows a body kick. Ferrell tries to catch it but that hurt him. Evela closes the distance and clinches up with Ferrell, looking for a takedown. Evela pushes Ferrell against the cage but Ferrell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ferrell tries to clinch but Evela moves out of range. Ferrell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Evela circles away. Ferrell drives through and clinches with Evela against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round. Evela ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Evela no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Ferrell with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Ferrell showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Evela is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ferrell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Evela works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ferrell is stalling in the full guard. Ferrell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Don Evela has got the better of the ground game so far. Further stalling from Ferrell.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Evela has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ferrell tries to close the distance and clinch but Evela swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Deuce Ferrell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ferrell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Ferrell controlling the position from side mount. Evela manages to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Evela regains full guard. Nicely done. Ferrell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Ferrell throws a big right hand that misses. Evela doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Ferrell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Evela shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ferrell as he jumps to the side. Evela stuffs the takedown attempt from Ferrell. Ferrell gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deuce Ferrell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ferrell is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ferrell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Evela looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Evela throws Ferrell to one side and escapes! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Evela thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Evela takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Evela looks up at the clock and then as Ferrell takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Evela smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Very athletic spring there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ferrell shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Evela moves into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deuce Ferrell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ferrell is pressed up against the cage. Evela has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ferrell down to the mat. Ferrell avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Ferrell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Evela sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ferrell somewhat. Evela misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ferrell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ferrell tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Evela has closed the distance and engaged Ferrell in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Ferrell's corner is telling him to maintain position. Ferrell has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Evela working a defensive guard here.
Deuce Ferrell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Don Evela is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Ferrell lands a couple of elbows.
And that's the end of the fight! Don Evela comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Evela has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
