Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Ingle (ranked 3962 p4p, 392 weight class) and Lazerus Limbtwister (ranked 2594 p4p, 263 weight class). Ingle comes to the cage accompanied by Peak Times by Switch. Limbtwister has chosen Breaking bones,Taking war-by CANNIBAL CORPSE as his entrance music. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joseph Ingle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lazerus Limbtwister! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Limbtwister throws a hook but Ingle blocks it. Ingle clinches up with Limbtwister and pushes him back against the cage. Limbtwister tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Ingle's elbow. Ingle is pressed up against the cage. Limbtwister has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ingle down to the mat. Ingle avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Limbtwister throws a body punch but Ingle moves out of range. Limbtwister has a takedown stuffed. Limbtwister shoots in looking for a takedown but Ingle manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Limbtwister's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Ingle half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. We've been told by Ingle's head coaches at Cozad Amsterdam that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Joseph Ingle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lazerus Limbtwister. Limbtwister feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Ingle wants to stand but Limbtwister is controlling the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Limbtwister thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Limbtwister wants to control from the top but Ingle keeps moving. Limbtwister drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ingle dives on top into guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ingle trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Limbtwister controls Ingle momentarily but Ingle frees himself. Ingle avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ingle trying to control but Limbtwister is working from the bottom. Limbtwister is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ingle working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ingle throws a sloppy strike and Limbtwister has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Ingle is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Limbtwister!
