Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Claudio Gadelha (ranked 4336 p4p, 213 weight class) and Ryan Tubridy (ranked 21723 p4p, 363 weight class). Tubridy is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Late Late theme tune. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 4 losses; Claudio Gadelha! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Helsinki, with a TWGC record of 7 wins and 2 losses; Ryan Tubridy!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Columbo Gatti and John Kavanagh.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Gadelha changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tubridy tries to avoid it but Gadelha manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tubridy to the ground. Tubridy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tubridy gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tubridy prevents a takedown attempt there.

Tubridy gets control of Gadelha's arms and successfully pulls guard. Tubridy will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Tubridy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gadelha's guard.
Gadelha tries to roll over but Tubridy keeps him under control.
Gadelha is staying active underneath Tubridy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Tubridy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've been informed that Tubridy has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Tubridy is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gadelha doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tubridy.

Gadelha is looking to cinch up a triangle. Tubridy throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Gadelha's body to avoid the submission. Gadelha has instead reached around Tubridy's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Gadelha arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Claudio Gadelha!
