Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adel Sadeq!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Mercer!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mercer connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sadeq's hands.

Mercer has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Sadeq is landing a low percentage of strikes.

and Sadeq counters with a single leg into guard. Mercer didn't expect that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sadeq is in close to Mercer's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Sadeq seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mercer for as long as he can get away with.

Sadeq is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sadeq slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sadeq loads up on a big left hand. Mercer felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Sadeq looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Mercer can't hide his disappointment, as Sadeq celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adel Sadeq!
An out of breath Adel Sadeq thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
