Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oo Oo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 54 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Harris! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Harris has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. No joy there for Harris, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Oo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Harris manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Oo has Harris in his guard.
Oo working for a triangle but Harris defends it easily.
Oo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Harris doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Harris manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oo pushes a forearm under Harris's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Harris is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Oo Oo! Oo Oo seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
