Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Abbot (ranked 7076 p4p, 136 weight class) and Nikolai Kovalenko (ranked 4088 p4p, 92 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

65 - 46 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nikolai Kovalenko! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abbot misses with a hook. Kovalenko ducked under it nicely. Kovalenko misses with a low kick. Abbot lands a slapping body shot.
This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Abbot. Kovalenko throws a leg kick but Abbot sees it coming and moves out of range. Abbot's jab looks to have found its range, popping Kovalenko under the eye. Kovalenko misses with a straight right. Kovalenko misses with the combination.
A low kick from Kovalenko misses and Abbot counters with a beautiful punch that sends Kovalenko to the canvas!
Kovalenko is rocked! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Abbot tries to free his leg and advance position but Kovalenko is retaining full guard. Kovalenko is still in real trouble! Can Abbot finish him? Abbot content to stall in guard here. Kovalenko seems to have recovered his senses. Kovalenko keeping moving, preventing Abbot from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abbot controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Abbot trying to control but Kovalenko is working from the bottom. Abbot looking to pass the guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Abbot controls from within his opponent's guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Abbot swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kovalenko misses with a leg kick. Abbot digs a good body shot into Kovalenko's ribs. Kovalenko gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. You can follow us on Twitter at...Ooooooh Kovalenko got wobbled bad by a big combination! Abbot presses forward with punches and knees until Kovalenko stumbles to the ground! The ref watches Kovalenko closely before deciding to step in and end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Abbot! Tony Abbot bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
